A major public access initiative guided the redevelopment of historic Bay Beach. Building on visioning work with the community that CGS and The Planning Partnership staff first developed in 1995, a new park with beach access was created on the site of previous commercial developments that had been slated to become a large condominium tower.

The modest park includes a new building with public washrooms and change rooms, beach gateway kiosks, and a prefabricated shade pavilion. The columns are formed from sculpted, sliced, bent and drilled steel. The architectural elements are simple, low maintenance and inexpensive, yet have the appropriate civic gravitas. The Planning Partnership are the prime consultant for this project with CGS designing the architectural elements.
